About Daniel
Daniel Goguen – Traditional-Country Artist
Daniel Goguen is from Cocagne, a small seaside village in Southeast New Brunswick. Inspired by American country music, he learned to play the guitar at age 15 and began writing his own songs by the time he was 17. Over the years, he has released six studio albums in French and is currently working on new material in English.
In 2014, Daniel’s track “Les Backroads” topped the Acadian radio music charts as the #1 song of the year. The following year, his hit “Finalement la fin de semaine” claimed the same position. In 2016, he won the prestigious Stingray Traditional-Country Music Prize at the St-Tite Western Festival in Quebec. That same year, he was nominated for both Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the French-Country Music Gala in Montreal.
Daniel’s talents have also been showcased on two different country music TV shows, aired nationwide by Radio-Canada.
In 2022, Daniel earned another nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year at the French-Country Music Gala. He is also proud to be a member of the French-Acadian Wall of Fame.
Since 2024, Daniel has been paying tribute to Alan Jackson through the highly popular Country Boys Tribute Show.
In 2026, Daniel released his rendition of Lee Marlow’s 1981 hit “Lovin’ Thru The Early Hours.” He shared, “Lee Marlow has been a huge influence on my music since I was young. He’s actually the first artist I ever saw live in concert in my hometown of Cocagne. It’s an honor to have had his approval on my recording of his song.”
Daniel’s music is rooted in traditional country, drawing inspiration from the likes of Alan Jackson, George Strait, Merle Haggard, and of course, Lee Marlow. Growing up with this style of country, he sings with passion and authenticity, pouring his heart into every song.
